Online learning to Hawaii's non-contiguous state, is more than just an alternative delivery for courses, for our schools, it’s an essential part of making education accessible to students who live in remote areas as well as those who may want to accelerate their learning or those who need to recover credits. Distance learning allows students flexibility while pursing their educational goals. Students in different parts of the state have different needs, as a result, Ainoa, Inc. has developed specialized expertise in the design, management and delivery of online programs. Ainoa's Approach to Online Education Ainoa understands that online learning is not the best environment for every student, therefore we have developed an evaluation plan for every school. Ainoa's work with various middle and high schools have defined its evaluation process and the importance of unique program development for every school. For instance, Farrington High School students enjoy a complete hybrid environment while Pearl City high School delivers a more virtual program. Ainoa, Inc. and UH GEAR UP have teamed up to design online courses that foster a sense of community and interaction while at the same time allowing students to connect with the course online 24/7. The result is a more experiential educational experience, in which students experience location-based, project-based and problem-based learning. Their assignments send them out beyond the four walls of their classroom and the online courses become a hive of excitement of sharing and reporting of experiences and learning.
